I am Lois Francis, I specialise in treating stress and fertility problems and am the author of 7 books published on Amazon (including 2 acupuncture text books).
I work with distressed people who need support with stress management and fertility problems. I do a full diet and lifestyle analysis with all new patients and offer a personal satisfaction guarantee.
As a result my clients feel more in control of their own health issues as we work together to help them achieve their health goals.
I am a qualified acupuncturist and NLP practitioner. I have trained with the Patrick Holford Zest4Life organisation to offer weight loss coaching.
I’m Tim Metford and I’m one of Coventry’s leading back pain specialists, pioneer of the ABC treatment method and co-author of the book Freedom From Back Pain which is published on Amazon. I work with people who have back and joint pain and need the most effective treatment and advice about their problem.
I’m the only practitioner to combine diet and lifestyle advice with my ABC treatment method and offer a satisfaction guarantee. As a result my patients get relief from pain and enjoy improved overall health.
Lois and Tim are both graduates of the College of Traditional Acupuncture, which sadly closed in 2012. The College was one of the longest established in the UK and was founded by Professor JR Worsley, who passed on his passion for acupuncture to his students. Lois and Tim both engage in an ongoing programme of professional development.
We were both members of the British Acupuncture Council from graduation until 2013. Our professional and public liability insurance is now provided by Holistic Insurance Services*. This is your guarantee that we have been properly trained at an accredited Acupuncture College in the U.K. and are qualified to give you safe and effective treatment.

We get asked lots of questions by our patients. The most common ones are listed below.
If we haven’t answered your question, please request a free telephone consultation and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.
Will you ask about all my symptoms and make sure you understand them?
A thorough understanding of your symptoms is essential to make an accurate assessment and formulate the best treatment plan for you. In the first treatment session, time is spent finding out about your symptoms and how your particular health issues affect you.
What happens at the first appointment?
At your first appointment, we will need to spend time finding out about you:~
We’ll want to know the main reason that you are coming for treatment and how your health and quality of life are affected.
We’ll also want to know if you have any other health concerns and take a brief medical history.
We would appreciate it if you bring with you a list of any medication, vitamins, herbs or other supplements that you take.
It’s important for us to analyse your diet to see if there are any changes that could be made to support you. With this in mind, please keep a detailed diet diary for at least 3 days before your appointment and bring it with you. Keep to your usual routine, just make a note of the time you eat and everything that you eat and drink.
We will start treatment at your first appointment, so please be prepared to undress if needed.
At each treatment we will spend time talking to you and finding out how you are. We will explain to you what treatment we feel is appropriate for you on the day and which acupuncture points we will use. We will make the location of the points clear to you, so that you are completely comfortable about the treatment you will be receiving.
Will you give me advice to help me improve my health through dietary and lifestyle changes?
It is important to understand that there are many factors involved in creating your state of health. These are your diet, your work/life balance, what exercise you take and your stress levels. In order to help you to attain your optimum health, it is sensible to look at all these factors and to give you guidance on making improvements where needed.
Do you ask about my medication before making recommendations to take supplements or herbs?
Some medications interact with herbs or health supplements, and so it is vital to make sure that whatever is recommended will be safe and appropriate for you to take. We have access to a computer database which gives reliable and up to date information on medications, herbs and possible interactions.
How many treatments do you recommend I should have?
Because acupuncture is working with the body’s natural healing systems, weekly treatment for 5 to 6 sessions is helpful. Within this time scale you should start to see improvement and we can then discuss spacing out treatments to maintain your improvement.
Do you use disposable needles and how are they disposed of?
All B.Ac.C. members are required to use pre-sterilised, single use, disposable needles and to make arrangements for their safe disposal. We have always used this type of needle as we consider it to be the safest for both patient and practitioner. Needles are stored in a sharps box and collected at regular intervals to be disposed of safely.
How long is a treatment session?
You should allow 50 minutes to an hour for each of your treatment sessions.
I’ve got several things wrong with me, can you just work with one problem at a time?
No. Acupuncture works to help your body heal system wide, so we don’t treat symptoms, we treat you as a person to help restore your normal state of health.
Do you charge cancellation or non-attendance fees?
If you find that you are unable to attend your appointment for any reason, we do appreciate 24 hours notice so that your appointment can be offered to another patient. We do charge for late cancellation or non-attendance at 50% of the normal fee.
Do you have treatment yourselves?
We certainly do. We believe that Acupuncture is brilliant for helping to maintain a state of good health and many of our patients come for a “top up” every few weeks, just because they know it helps them stay feeling good.
